Happy International Women's Day! Today I celebrate all of the obstacles the women before me have overcome. I celebrate the beautiful & strong women, in my life, that have shown me how to show up, to be kind and to embrace my gifts. I have watched and learned how to keep my head high, conquer my fears, brush my hair, put on my lipstick and to keep moving. "You have to get up to show up!" I continue to "show up" today because of them!
Life is full of obstacles and full of wins too! Just keep moving because you have work to do!
I am always in awe at the woman that never complains, keeps a calm head and a steady hand! The woman that holds her head high and her dignity higher. The woman that never swears and just shakes her head. I admire this because it is so NOT me! Lol. Don't get me wrong! I keep my head high and I DO try harder everyday! I am just an emotional creature with a passion for justice, a heart of warrior, a touch of a little rebellion, and a mouth that likes to swear. ...a lot..so I've been told.
I have played many roles and have worn a thousand hats, but my most precious role, at the moment, is to be a GiGi! My heart melts, all over again, at the site of my darling grandchildren, One & 11 months, and the smell of their sweaty little baby feet! I can honestly say that they complete me, in a sense, it's living life 360.
I am so very grateful that I am finally building a life of balance and doing what I love. I am doing that with the gentle guidance and urgent nudges of my beautiful grandmothers'; Alyce Elizabeth and Helen Rosetta, who both met Jesus, on the same day, February 10th, 2020. My goal is to be half of the woman that you both were, the best mama, that I know to be, and the best grandma that I possibly can be! THAT, my friends, is a reason to get up and to show up!
To the Women Before Me; I see you, I hear you, I feel you, I respect you and I thank you.
